Good Afternoon, Through on-going engagement , DFO’s Ghost Gear Program is working on the Canadian Ghost Gear Action Plan, which includes regulatory development as a key component. Five action areas have been identified through our previous activities: Risk reduction measures, Ghost gear retrievals, Lost gear reporting, Storage and proper disposal of ghost gear, and Traceability of fishing gear through its lifespan.
