SAFETY AT SEA FOR LOBSTER FISHING AREA 26A1
		POINT PRIM TO VICTORIA
		Moncton – July 4, 2014 EKME # 3244301
Moncton – Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), Gulf Region, wishes to advise fish harvesters in a portion of Lobster Fishing Area 26A1 between Point Prim and Victoria to take extra care when navigating within the Southern Gulf of St. Lawrence as inclement weather is expected from Saturday, July 5, 2014 through to the lobster season closing date of Monday, July 7, 2014.
Harvesters are encouraged to act diligently in removing their traps prior to the impending inclement weather this weekend. Should harvesters be unable to retrieve all their traps prior to closing of the fishery due to the inclement weather, they shall contact DFO Conservation and Protection at (902) 888-4001 to obtain authorization for the retrieval of the traps after the closure of the season. Harvesters removing their traps after the closing date shall immediately empty the traps of any lobster prior to returning to port as no harvesters will be permitted to land lobster after the closing date of July 7, 2014.
